Cockermouth   is  a busy  Georgian town  located in the  county  of Cumbria loved by many for  being  the birthplace  of  the  poets   William  Wordsworth  and  Dorothy Wordsworth.It   has  ancient sites like  the Cockermouth  Castle  ruins  and is  home  to  Rivers   Cocker   and  Dewent.It  is located in the  North  Western side of Cumbria  at  the edge of Lake  District national  Park and Solway  coast.The  town  has Georgian buildings  with  independent  shops cafes and  the market.The  buildings are  made of predominantly stones.Most  tourists  come to  Cockermouth to  see the  Wordsworth  house. Kirkgate Arts offer cinema, music, drama and crafts, cookery and writing. It is a great  place to explore while in the town.

At first I thought

It was a fairy tale

Of a land hidden

In the countryside

Down, down the North

Surrounded by the hills and mountains

I thought I was in a dream world

As I found myself

In a train

Moving down

The lonely paths

In the night

In search of the little town

Of Cockermouth in Cumbria

As we moved down the hills and valleys

Our train in steady motion

I gazed at the beautiful country sides

As men and women

Smiled at each other

Some in conversation

Others in deep thought

I watched the sheep and the cattle 

Grazing by the countryside

And the houses

Scattered on the hills

Farmers at work

And as our train stopped

I paused

As we walked down the little town of Cockermouth

Women with friendly demeanour

Bidding us goodbye

As we alight

From the train

It’s the end of our journey

To Cockermouth in Cumbria

I smiled cos it’s   a dream come true

The city is

As its name sounds

 I thought

Small, quiet and calm

But beautiful

 Travelling  to Glasgow  in   a four  and half hours   journey  to  a  city  found  to  be  so  friendly that  it  was given an award  for being nice to visitors  could be a  life time  experience. I have travelled to and stayed in so many towns in the United Kingdom but  this town holds   a place in my heart  . One of the  finest places  I have been to  is  Maidenhead which is located  in the  county of Berkshire. Maidenhead is a market town in the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead, which is located in the county of Berkshire, England, on the south western bank of the River Thames. It has an estimated population of 70,374 and forms part of the border with southern Buckinghamshire.

Travelling to Maidenhead from London is easy because of the fast  train. The station  hosts  the executive chauffeur  drivers  who are always  around  to take people  into the town. It is one of the most  beautiful  towns  in the United Kingdom  .Top  Tourist  attractions  in Maidenhead  are

London is a hub of commerce and trade.It is a place where spending money seems to be a hot topic Londoners live lavish lifestyles, especially when it comes to  buying  cars ,clothes and  food. They are very hardworking, with many Londoners doing all round night and day jobs, to be able to keep up with the soaring demands of the times. Londoners seem to be adjusting to life after the virus. Many have become accustomed to being on their own, as social distancing and the lockdown have transformed many  lives. London has become more quieter after the virus . Some of its inner streets have become pin drop noise level and sometimes you wonder if the neighbours are still around. Is this the new London?.

 Londoners are known for being very quiet people, staying by themselves  .They love serenity and calm neighbourhoods and with the lockdown many people are quieter. If you walk through the streets in the evenings, you can hardly hear any noises and sometimes one wonders if  the neighbours are on holidays. Londoners love reading books and watching their  televisions, sometimes the programmes could be  none of their interests, but they will keep on watching ,glued up to their televisions and when you ask them the reason why, they will shrug it off .And I have a feeling, that with the emergence of this quieter new life, Londoners prefer staying  at home now,sticking to their televisions more than ever~BBC,  while waiting  for the clock to signal that it is time to dash off to work. Find them on the streets by 4.00am jumping into the ever waiting twenty four hour red buses and cabs, looking at their expensive Cartier wristwatches, to make sure that they are at the office on the dot- dotcom living .Life is a Circus of course- Piccadilly Circus London. It is all about getting there on time and returning back in a dash.

While removing your clothes quickly, to  have a quick nap on your clean expensive sofa, as the clock chimes again, telling you that it is four a.m and time to go.  Life goes on.

It is not a surprising thing that even three year olds around the world know about Manchester as many world class footballers have played for various football clubs in the city making it a world class name for talented footballers and their fans. Manchester is not only known for football, it has so many beautiful   landmarks and it is a beautiful part of the country. Manchester is located in the North West region   of United Kingdom. There are many nice places to visit in Manchester. Such places as

1   Piccadilly Gardens in Manchester

Piccadilly Gardens is a stretch of green space in the Manchester city centre between the Northern Quarter and Market Street offering a serene escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. Piccadilly Gardens have water features, art, and spectacular architecture, benches for relaxing, statues and buildings that trace the whole history of Manchester. At Piccadilly Gardens you can be free to play, run about with the kids while on holidays. There are local artisans and crafts shops to see .You can do some shopping and there are trams to take you to anywhere you like in the city.

Piccadilly Gardens is a popular place to visit while in Manchester, but it can be crowded at times. It has a good transport network and you can stroll around the city. There is the water fountain to see during summer and the kids can play around the place.

Among the popular places to see while visiting Manchester is St Peter's Square.St Peter's Square is the public square of Manchester located in the Civic Quarter known for its historic monuments, museums historic and ethnic neighbourhoods. It is also a major station for the Metro link tram system that gets you around Manchester. The square is a historic place for those who wish to know more about the city’s heritage and there are places to shop and eat in the area.

3  Castlefield Art Gallery

Other nice places to visit include the Castlefield Art Gallery, with its exhibitions of contemporary art, and Bridgewater Hall, home to the Hallé Orchestra and other first-class concerts. The Castlefield Bowl has regular classical concerts and is also a good place to visit while in Manchester.

This is a beautiful place to visit if you wish to know more about the wars that were fought in the past. You will see historical fighting jets and other aircrafts. This  is  a fun place  which  the kids  might love  to see so  think  about taking the kids to Manchester  as a treat  to keep them smiling  during this  summer. It has  many exciting attractions - from the Kingdom Quest ride to the LEGO CITY Forest Pursuit driving adventure ride complete with battery powered off road vehicles .The miniland  in the Lego centre is a must see for the kids. The intu Trafford Centre is a place where the kids can sit and have a taste of extensive choice of eateries in the Orient and the opulent Great Hall while visiting Manchester. Manchester cathedral is one of the oldest churches in the city and has a history going back to 600 years and more. It has a   roof supported by 14 angels each playing a different golden instrument.The Cathedral is open every day and admission is free of charge.

8  There are so many fun and nice things to do in Salford for those wanting to make a day trip out of it; those crunched for time would do well to visit one or two attractions in this pleasant university town. The Salford Quays, usually referred to simply as "The Quays," should definitely be your top destination.

 9  Travel inside the boat in the Bridgewater canal

Among the most beautiful places to visit in Manchester is the Bridgewater Canal. It was constructed in 1761 to transport coal from the mines at Worsley to Manchester. Most of the warehouses in this area have been converted into   offices, shops, hotels, and restaurants. It could be an exciting experience travelling with the boats in the canal.

I  have written about  the Cotswolds before now ,as one of the finest places  in the country but  each day as  I use my Lavender  beauty products , they remind me of the town's  beauty.Having travelled around to see Britain's small villages   and their ancient  stone wall buildings,  which  make many to be in  awe of  the  historical  architects,  who drew the town plans and  built the stonewall villages.I always look back to the  times ,when I was  a little  girl, when my  aunt  used to rub the lavender  face  creams with their sweet  aromas. The Lavender fields  remain some of the most beautiful places to see in the United Kingdom  with their purple summer flowers  and this is what makes  Cotswold amazing with the stone  buildings. The Cotswolds are known for their  posh English stone villages and beautiful countryside. They are known for their picture perfect places, ancient market towns and outdoor activities like walking and exploring scenic places. The region's beauty also comes from its history, with its wealth built on the medieval wool trade, leaving behind grand churches and strongly built cottages.

The area has lots of Chinese decorations and signs, that make them  different  and  for  tourist  visitors.Birmingham is famous  for its  football  clubs  and is  known  for hosting major premier league tournaments.Birmingham's major football clubs includes  Aston Villa F.C. and Birmingham City F.C., who play in the Premier League and EFL League One respectively. Aston Villa was founded in 1874, while Birmingham City was founded one year later in 1875.The clubs are real old  football clubs  connected with United Kingdom  football history as they have produced  many  great footballers.Birmingham's Colmore district area Snow Hill and Birmingham Cathedral which make up the Colmore Business District is  a fantastic place to visit with its offices  and business centres  hosting the big banks too.  It has  posh boutiques  for fashion loving people who like  window shopping or doing real clothes  shopping in retail centres in big cities.There are many eatery  places  to enter if one gets hungry   while shopping.Birmingham with its  history of football,  is loved by  many because of  the  notable footballers from Birmingham include Trevor Francis, known for his time at Birmingham City and winning the European Cup Winners' Cup with Nottingham Forest, and Joe Bradford, Birmingham City's all-time leading goalscorer. Other notable players are England internationals such as Karen Carney and Ellen White, as well as  present players like Jude Bellingham and Daniel Sturridge who are still with clubs in the premier league.Birmingham with its  cultural  and musical heritage, has  also  produced  some of the biggest names in British  history  which makes it one of the most respected cities  in Great Britain.Birmingham is also known  for its famous writers from the deceased Benjamin Zephaniah, a well-loved poet to Samuel Johnson, the 18th-century lexicographer. Other notable writers are poet W. H. Auden, thriller author Lee Child, and playwright Jonathan Coe. Birmingham has it all as a place one can find inspiration  to be an artist. The city is know  for its beautiful street art adornment in several places.Birmingham gardens  can be places to host family events  such as weddings   and birthdays ,because of the beauty.Visitors can visit four spectacular glasshouses showcasing tropical, subtropical, Mediterranean, and arid climates. Beyond the glasshouses, there picturesque gardens, such as a Japanese garden, a rock garden, and a butterfly house. The venue could be used for seasonal events, educational workshops, and family-celebrations  all through the seasons of  the year.The Edgbaston reservoir which is located within a short walk from the, city has canals and sightseeing areas around them.The area shows the  cities industrial  heritage.Birmingham has good schools which are diverse, with highly-ranked grammar schools such as King Edward VI Camp Hill School for Girls and Bishop Vesey's Grammar School, and selective independent schools like King Edward's School. Other top performers include independent schools like Solihull School and Edgbaston High School for Girls, and state schools with outstanding Ofsted ratings like Nishkam High School and Harborne Primary School. The "best" school depends on individual priorities like academic focus, location, or a specific educational philosophy.Birmingham has it all when it comes to arts  ,education,sports  and a history of cultural heritage.It is one of the places people wish to live  in United  Kingdom.As Christmas is looming,Birmingham has just been given the  second United Kingdom city with the second best  Christmas market.Birmingham's most famous universities are the University of Birmingham and Aston University, known for their strong research and academic reputations. Other important scholarly places in the city   are Birmingham City University, Newman University, and University College Birmingham.Birmingham has specialist women and children's hospitals  and they are hosts  to world class medical facilities with its world class facilities remain some of the best hospitals in United Kingdom.The "Floozie in the Jacuzzi" statue in Victoria Square, Birmingham, is the most prominent structure with a front waterfall, which is part of a large fountain called -the River. While not a natural waterfall, it is a man-made structure featuring water .Birmingham city is one of the most beautiful city to see ,to be,to visit  and to remember in the country.

Hampshire Portsmouth  comes as one of the places  you can be. Located  at the south  East of England  .There are  so many  exciting places to be  while visiting Portsmouth.

1   Marwell  Zoo Winchester

2     Winchester Cathedral

This is one of the largest  cathedrals in Europe  and is one of  Hampshire’s finest tourist places. A  little prayer inside  the cathedral can be the anti-dote to a  stress filled COVID  life of  expensive living. The  cathedral café  has  a beautiful  garden  and an open terrace.And do not forget that Jane Austen the famous  author was buried   at Winchester Cathedral.

The art gallery is one of Britain’s finest and you need to see the gallery for yourself. Visit the gallery and see the best arts .

4 The Isles of Wight ferries

Visit the sea  side and the isle  of  Wight  ferries   Hampshire coastline  which is primary school  kids  most exciting  visit place.I can always look back to excursions with my youngsters,  while they were  in primary school looking  forward to exciting visits  to  the isle of Wight ferries.Create fun times for the kids to remember.Visit Isle of Wight.

5  The  ocean  village  is a superb friendly secure  sightseeing place  to visit while in Portsmouth. It has good local supermarket and shopping places.

You can  also  see the mediaeval  city  wall, Tudor gardens, vintage  vehicles  and the mediaeval  merchant house is a place to see especially if you are keen about history.Other historic places like the titanic trail bar gate and sea  city  museum makes  Portsmouth a delight.

6  The New Forest national Park

Hampshire is home to the new forest national Park and is a place of  tourist   attraction  .

Among the towns  that people  love most  in the  United Kingdom is  Cornwall.Everyone  I had ever  interviewed  about the  most  beautiful place they  like  visiting  will  always tell me that  they  love Cornwall  most.With  its  hills  and picture  perfect  awe  inspiring  view Cornwall  remains  an amazing  county  in the  United  Kingdom.Cornwall has different  tourist  sites  from the beautiful coastal scenery to historic sites and  towns. Major places to visit in  Cornwall include the Minack Theatre, St. Michael's Mount, the Eden Project, Tintagel Castle, and the Lost Gardens of Heligan. Other notable locations include coastal towns like Falmouth, Padstow, and St Ives, as well as Bodmin Moor and Kynance Cove to  see the  beauty of  nature. The  Cornish landmarks  are  worth  seeing  and you will  also  have the  opportunities  to visit  restaurants  to  eat  specially made Cornish  pastries.

1. Heartlands- This award-winning attraction based in Redruth was noted  as  the UK’s first cultural playground.  It has a  collection of heritage exhibitions, a  large adventure playground for the children, festivals, and farmers markets make up this fantastic free attraction, perfect for all the family. 

 2 St Michael’s Mount -This  destination is a great place  for family  outings. There  is  a fee to explore the magnificent castle and pretty gardens, but passing through the causeway and seeing  the harbour front is free.Start the day at Marazion’s sandy beach before making the walk across the causeway, when the tide is low enough.  Visit The Barge House Visitor Centre to see the exhibition, then pop into the Island Café before heading back across the water to Marazion. The  fares  are  cheap  and you do not need  to worry about  the fares to visit  these places.The  lovely   beaches along the Cornish Coast include the epic stretch that is Praa Sands, the surfer-haven of Fistral Beach and the scenic, tranquil cove of Hemmick Beach. 

3. Trenance Gardens and Leisure Park Trenance  garden and  leisure  park is  a place you need to  stay in while  visiting  beautiful  Cornwall. Cornwall is known for its beautiful gardens, from the Eden Project to Tremenheere Sculpture Gardens and one do  not have to pay to  visit  this  beautiful  Cornish  landmark. 

4. Rough Tor Many of the beautiful natural places throughout Bodmin Moor are free to explore, and Rough Tor at sunset must be one of the most captivating sights in the region. Climbing to the top of Cornwall's highest hill, neighbouring Brown Willy, and  looking down from Rough Tor on the Fernacre stone circle will be a  good place to visit.

5. The Royal Cornwall Museum With many museums in the UK, admission is free for kids and the Royal Cornwall Museum in Truro is no exception.  There are  beautiful collection of vintages and archaeological treasures, you can showing the Cornish culture going back to the  prehistoric era. The  museum  will take you through  history  and it is  a lifetime  experience that is worth having. The museum is a brilliant place to visit for people of all ages, for younger visitors the museum offers a fabulous timetable of activities to enjoy during the summer holidays.

6. Trelissick Gallery The  Trelissick  gallery  offers  beautiful  sculptures  and pictures  which  are great  to be seen  while visiting  Cornwall. The  castles,the  coasts, the  museums,the  historical  landmarks,the mountains ,the boats ,the harbours provides  the multitude of  places  to be seen  while  visiting  Cornwall.Cornwall offers different  places  to visit  for  different activities. From thrilling water sports, visiting historical landmarks, and moving  round  picturesque gardens. Feel  free on sandy beaches, make memories  with  friends  and families , and join the Cornish  guided tours.There are lists  of so many places to  see while holdaying in Cornwall  and there are beautiful  and affordable  hotels to  stay in  too.Cornwall has beautiful mountain landscape built in a rural landscape with amazing views.Explore the mountains, the forest views and see the Cornish historical landmarks which have helped to shape British history.Cornwall as a historical town with its museums presents a place that one can stay while visiting United Kingdom.With its historical chapels and old buildings.
