Diversity  and  Inclusion- Working  in hope  brings  the best out of others

It  baffles  me  sometimes  when I  think  about  diversity and inclusion  in terms  of how  we  relate  to  one  another. It  also  baffles  me  that  even some  very   highly  travelled  and educated  people , still  feel  that  our  differences  could  be points  of  so many  high  and lofty  arguments  that  could  lead  to giganmous   fights about  who gets  to good  or beautiful  places. It still baffles me that  in this century  some people  still feels  that  even if you are the  best  gifted ,you  need to be thrown into the bin with your  gifts  at all  costs, just to score   needless  points  that  you are not good enough. It baffles me that  such people  still  feel that  rubbishing other people  with their  useful gifts, is better than  allowing them  to  make a living from their  gifts  and bless  society, because of their own lines of thoughts, that these guys  do not fit in.

It still baffles me  that  such people  do this in this  present  world, that  you do not have to be there,  because you do not fit into their own descriptions of what a human  being  should be. It  still  baffles  me that  in this century  a  difference  in opinion  someone  expressed  can  make another  person to see them  as  enemies,  even without meeting them  or  engaging them in  useful conversations , to understand  who they are and  what they are thinking. You do not jump into  conclusions  about  people  or  what they can do wrong or the negative they intend to do ,  just by mere  speculations and  stereotyping and then try to actually  bully them into  the stereotypical  places  your mind thinks  that  they should be. That's  an archaic  practice and line of thinking ,such  lines of thoughts  make  it impossible to get the best out of others, hence  we  need to always   thread  carefully on how  we throw  stones at innocent people,  because of  conclusions  based on stereotyping and hearsays, bringing  the innocent to  places of  pain and shame. And it baffles  me that some people  can actually remove goodness from  others because of hearsays.    In  living a  lifestyle of nobility , having  a little  consideration  for others  is  what  it means to be  noble,   it is  good  to  see and understand  other people  as humans .It is good  to consider others  in the things  we do ,  knowing  that  none of  us  brought ourselves here or brought  anything to this  world. If you are  asking someone to buy  a pair of  classy shoes today  ,maybe  he    was  in  the hospital  when the request  was made  or maybe  he didnot have any  money  at that point .He  has   to  wait  until he  has the grace to be able to  do that, because  every human is here by  grace. We  are humans  with little  knowledge of   who we  are  or  even how  we came here or where  we come from , but we all  live by hope. Diversity  means that  we just need to  accept  each other  and  work at  getting the  best  from each other.Still writing about diversity and inclusion, it is love that brings people to a place of accepting others even with the differences. It is love that brings people to speak to others in calm reassuring voices , that make them to come to the points of accepting our own thoughts about life. Hence love your neighbour as you love yourself.I  have  lived   and interacted with  people  of  different races, faith  and  colours  in London  and  sometimes  I  am  surprised  at the  different ethnicities  and  the love  some of the people  share with  others. Some  try  to make life  beautiful  for  strangers and these are the  awesome people , who  live  out their  faith  as a lifestyle. But I am baffled at  the other   people  who actually  make  money  by  landing other people  in difficult places .These other  group  have  failed to understand that  we are humans  from the  same place, even  with our different locations.Accepting  the  diverse nature of  London means that ,many Londoners  have matured  and moved  on and away from  situations  of  thinking  that others  are  not humans, just   because  they do not fit into  our own  lines of thought about being humans. Some  Londoners  share so much love with their neighbours  and  they  are always there  to help .They smile  and wave to   everyone  and that is the spirit of love  and understanding,  a  lifestyle that is needed in our communities across the world today .Diversity focuses on the presence of the differences, while inclusion ensures that all individuals feel valued, respected, and have equal access to opportunities. Working  in hope helps us to bring the  best out of other  people.

Converging even when different-The Truth  about  diversity  and  celebrations

We will  be   going  down  the memory lane   to  show  some of the  events   that   promote  love, diversity and inclusion among Londoners .One  of such events  is  the Ibo  day celebration  and  I will  be  showing some of the  images  of  those who came  for the event in 2022-Fostering the  spirit of love and joy. Celebrations  are times  when we gather together in the  spirit of  love  to  be joyful  about  goodness  and  laugh  together, they are better than the times  of our needless fights  and  arguments .They  are times when we heal  from our  rifts  and angers  over the minute  and the  meaningless.

The  diversity of  expressions is very important in understanding  our  societies  and the way  people  are thinking, helping  in fostering  unity, love  and and  having  an  understanding of  where  we merge as  humans,  despite  our  differences. It helps   to  make  a truce and  good decisions   that  help us to know  that even if we  are different,  we can all get  along   and  be grateful   for  everything  given to us  as  humans  and not look  at what  makes  us different. That is  what makes  the world  beautiful  in the differences  of  our languages ,races, colour  and faith , we can still  have  our talking  points without feeling  different  or alienating  one another.

Held yearly, the Ibo day highlights not only the richness of the Ibo culture, but also the essential role of intercultural dialogue for achieving peace and sustainable development especially in the United Kingdom. The  2022 year’s celebration took place at a park in North London.

Why does cultural diversity matter?

Three-quarters of the world’s major conflicts have a cultural dimension. Bridging the gap between cultures is urgent and necessary for peace, stability and development. Friction  happens  in  communities  when people fail to understand one another. But  events like  this  make  us to  gather  together  and bring our friends  to know one another  and  share  in what makes us  different , bridging  the gaps of   misunderstandings  caused by  not  sharing our  different  values  and getting  to know and  understand each other's  points of  views  in the way we are living and thinking.

Diversity is a driving force for peace  and development, not only with respect to economic growth, but also as a means of leading a more fulfilling intellectual, emotional, moral and spiritual life. When  people  fight  ,they   destroy what has been built  for years  already . Destroying what has been built  already  causes  wastages, losses, heartaches  and  sometimes  those involved  in the fights  can  only live to  tell their  tales in afterlife, making  the conflict  ventures  not very meaningful.

Beyond the ordinary

Moving down the memory  lane  Osodieme Uzuakoli   came for the event
